It's not just the sauce that makes the steak, it's the rub you put on the meat as well. To make the perfect rancher's rub, you need: 1/2 cup ancho chili powder (or pure chili powder), 1/2 cup mild paprika, 1/4 cup kosher salt, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper.
